Best Retreat House in Tagaytay : La Valletta House of Prayer

After a while of working, it is not bad to look for a place and find tranquility to renew yourself again. But then going out for a retreat does not mean that we only look towards reflecting inwardly and mediation but we also try our best to find a better place that can cater our physical needs to achieve our goals. Our institution has always been looking for a better place in Tagaytay to conduct our retreat but most of the retreat houses that we've been to were not that much of a 5 star satisfactory.

Our search for best retreat house has come to an end when we finally arrived at La Valletta House of Prayer. The place is maintained by the sumascan sisters who were 100% friendly and accommodating. They knew exactly what we needed.  There are a lot of things to commend about this place.

1. The friendly sisters who took care of our needs, from our food to our comfort.
One of the many notable qualities of the sisters here are their compassion to serve. They always SMILE!!! They smile a lot and they never fail to greet us every time we come across them during our stay.

Look at them, this is a stolen shot - while we were having our luncheon, they were busy preparing more food and yet they were still smiling. ALL OF THEM.! It's quite rare to encounter people like them who are passionate about what they do. Thus, they provide better service and the place was filled with positive energies. What a great day it was for all of us! Great service!!

2. The room was clean and spacious - just enough for all of us to bond during midnight!

The room was cold enough that there's no need for air-condition or fan. It was clean that I could even smell the newly prepared bed sheets -- hand- washed by the sisters. We did not have to bring our own bed sheets and pillows. Everything was well prepared for us. In a room like this, I usually have 1 major concern in most places.. - the comfort room. But then the sisters are fully aware of this so they divided our group. Instead of 20/ room, they requested 12/group. Btw, there were 40 of us. We occupied about 4 big rooms.

3. The comfort room / Bath room

The comfort room was also clean and spacious and has provision for hot/cold shower. After our evening session, everyone looked forward for a good hot shower bath. We pampered ourselves before sleeping. There were a lot of restrooms available in the place and they were all clean and well maintained.

4. The Session hall

The session hall was also well maintained. They have complete equipment to meet the retreat master's needs such as projector, boards, microphones, sound systems.. and many more.

5. Chapel
We used to have a mass at the end of our retreat before we part ways. The place has everything we needed. :)

6. Last! But not least - FOOD!
The sisters here made sure that we will also enjoy the food. We enjoyed ALL that they served. They also presented the food very well. Their effort to serve us the best way they can was heart-breaking! I fell in love with the place not because of the comfort and all that but because of the wonderful services provided by the sisters who took their duty to serve wholeheartedly.

I always get so excited to eat that I forgot to take pictures of the other food they served! :(
They served a lot of food here! We have breakfast, 10 PM snacks, lunch, 3 PM snacks and dinner. We ate a lot and they served a lot even during snack time. This place is heaven!

They also served deliciously brewed coffee with provisions of sugar and creamers. You can get coffee anytime during the day and even during dinner. I literally drowned myself in caffeine all day and did not mind the consequences.

During free time, we took our chance to talk about my colleague's wedding plans.

Mind you, this was just our PM snack! PM Snack! They really do serve a lot compared to other retreat houses that only served bread and orange juice.

I really thank the Sumascan sisters for making our retreat memorable. I will recommend this place to all my friends and relatives.
